Fights, Ejections, and Waterbottles

This weekends matchup between the Colorado Eagles and the Arizona Sundogs had all the makings for a Northern Conference Finals Playoff Series. On Friday night, the crowd watched as the Eagles and Sundogs battled for the lead all night. In the End it was Colorado coming out on top 5-4, but not before Erik Adams had to leave the game with an injury. Not to be outdone was the fine throwing arm Coach Stewart displayed. His unique ability to chuck a water bottle, or any object for that matter, makes him a shue-in for the Hockey Hall of Fame. Oh and that earned him and Ejection, way to fire up the boys coach. Come saturday the Eagles came out with something to prove. With Captain Greg Pankewicz leading the charge. Pankewicz was fiesty as usual, adding 4 goals and an assist, and recording his 500th goal for his career. At the pace he's on look out 600. After the Eagles got the lead on the scoreboard, they took to settling a few scores in the physical department, with Les Borsheim, Ryan Tobler, and Fraser Filipic all getting in on the action. Tobler's fight with Bernier was a sleeper, Bernier just kept skating in circles hoping to lull Tobler to sleep. Fraser and Steeves fight was nothing to speak of either. Steeves in an attempt to save his face, wrestled Filipic to the ice, but once there Filipic unleashed several blows on Steeves. The bout of the night was Borsheim/Doyle. Give Doyle his props he wanted to go, but not with Borsheim, he wanted Pankewicz, but the ref seperated them before the drop of the puck. Borsheim slid over in front of Doyle and almost didnt wait for the puck Drop. Borsheim gets the nod in this one delivering several blows, Doyle did manage to get Borsheim's Jersey off, apparently ripping the fight strap and at the end of the fight threw the Jersey into the crowd, earning him a 10-min misconduct. Don't fret fans, the guy in the stands gave the Jersey back, props to him, classy move from a classy fan. Eagles take the game 5-2. Keep an eye out for this Rivalry, could be a classic.
Is it that time of year already.......HELL YEAH!!!
